Welcome to Strong Mind + Body
Have you ever thought to yourself “I just wish I could feel like me again.” You feel disconnected from yourself and your life, like you’re just going through the motions and hoping that someday it will get better. You are not alone. It’s likely you’ve experienced some trauma in your life and have become stuck in an ongoing loop impacting your overall functioning and ability to truly live your life. When trauma occurs, there is a disconnect in the mind-body connection and ultimately, we abandon the ability to trust ourselves, begin overthinking, leading you to feel anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, and unable to cope. Or you disengage completely, feeling numb and emotionless. Unfortunately, this won’t just go away on its own. It’s not a phase and yes, it can get worse.
The good news….You can do difficult things AND thrive.
I’m Erin, a licensed counselor for nearly 10 years, helping individuals like yourself face difficult challenges and heal. I have a unique background in both Trauma therapy and Sport Psychology. I experienced some adversities early in life, but I didn’t have courage or language to talk about it. Playing sports, although a great outlet, taught me to conceal everything I was feeling, ignore the emotional pain, and suffer alone. This wasn’t exactly a recipe for success when deciding to compete at the collegiate level. I felt broken and completely withdrawn from myself. I wondered if there were others out there like me and began to seek answers and healing. Though my own journey, I found that talk therapy was helpful, but couldn’t get me completely over the hump, thus leaning into more holistic approaches such as EMDR and Somatic therapy, which became essential to feeling whole again.
Treatment is unique and tailored to you….
I strongly believe that not one approach works for everyone which is why I tailor my approach to your specific needs. I like to use a holistic integrative approach to therapy using different modalities such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, Attachment, Somatic Experiencing and Sport Psychology. I offer individual sessions for teens and adults struggling with Depression, Anxiety, Self-confidence, Relationship struggles, Trauma, Stage of life change, Major transitions, and Stress. In-person and telehealth options available.
